Queen pineapple (Ananas comusus (Linn.) Merr) is one of the Philippines' sweetest variety of pineapple. It has a tapering shape, deep eyes & yellow flesh color. It is also known for its distinct aroma & crisp flesh. Its core is smaller, compared to other varieties.

Queen pineapple has a distinct sweetness that is highly acceptable in a pineapple fruit. It will delight people with delicate taste. The fresh queen pineapple is nutritious too because it contains vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, phosphorus, fat, sugar and carbohydrates.

The province of Camarines Norte is the only province in the Philippines that traditionally grows the queen pineapple cultivar.

Maturity Index:

Queen pineapple taste best when not over ripe. This is when the skin has traces of yellow and the eyes are wider. The flesh is crisp and has a distinct sweetness. Just right as table fruit or dessert.
